Nolan Donald, Founding Pastor
Nolan is WordServe’s first and founding pastor.
Born and raised in Auburn, Alabama, Nolan went to college at Auburn University (War Eagle!) before serving in youth ministry. After two years of youth ministry, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, and became ordained in the United Methodist Church. Since seminary, Nolan has served on staff of three UM churches. In 2007, Nolan came to Grace Fellowship UMC in Katy to help start a new church in the greater Fulshear/west Katy area. Under Nolan’s leadership WordServe Church launched in February, 2009 as a church committed to guiding people to grow as joyful servants of Jesus.
In early 2016 Nolan felt God leading him back to his home state, and he eventually accepted an invitation to serve a church in Foley, Alabama. After leading WordServe to a new location, securing WordServe’s Charter – i.e. becoming an independent church – and facilitating the transition for the incoming Lead Pastor, Nolan and his family moved to Foley in June 2016.
Nolan is married to Susanna, who is also an Alabama native and Auburn graduate. They have two sons – Asher and Ezra – and one daughter – Esther – who keep them on their toes. They love music, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and Auburn football (of course).
